Concrete

Applicants will have some experience in concrete processes with a desire to learn more and improve their skills and an understanding that the work is physically demanding and often involves long hours and exposure to the elements. The successful applicant will have good communication skills and be willing to take direction and learn from more experienced employees. They will pay attention to detail and take pride in the work that they do.

Foreman

Quality leadership is one of the most important aspects of any roadbuilding operation, effective and competent direction ensures a well-functioning work environment and a quality finished product. Applicants will have more than five years experience in the concrete construction phase of the roadbuilding process as well as proven leadership skills. They will have a knowledge of the materials involved in these processes, the ability to visualize jobs from start to finish and organize and manage their time appropriately. They will be able to effectively supervise & organize a crew of employees, they have an extensive background in reading and understanding construction drawings, blueprints and specifications, knowledge of construction materials, transportation of materials, and excellent communication skills. An understanding of the importance of safety to the overall success of the crew is critical as is their knowledge of their role in the large-scale success of the operation.

Finishers

Skilled concrete finishers are critical to the success of a concrete crew and the roadbuilding operation as a whole. Applicants will have more than five years experience finishing concrete in a roadbuilding setting, understand the different structures and processes involved in the concrete phase of roadbuilding construction. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be willing to take direction, and be willing to share their knowledge with less experienced employees in order to ensure the future success of this division. An understanding of the physical demands of this work and the ability to work safely are also keys to success.

Formsetters

Skilled form setters are critical to the success of a concrete crew and the road building operation as a whole. Applicants will have more than three years experience in setting and stripping forms in a road building setting, and an understanding of the different structures and processes involved in the concrete phase of road building construction. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be willing to take direction, and be willing to share their knowledge with less experienced employees in order to ensure the future success of this division. An understanding of the physical demands of this work and the ability to work safely are also keys to success.

Labourers
