Base

Applicants will have some experience in road building processes with a desire to learn more and improve their skills and an understanding that the work is physically demanding and often involves long hours and exposure to the elements. They will be required to operate small equipment like plate tampers and jump jacks. The successful applicant will have good communication skills and be willing to take direction and learn from more experienced employees. They will pay attention to detail and take pride in the work that they do.

Foreman

Quality leadership is one of the most important aspects of any road building operation, effective and competent direction ensures a well-functioning work environment and a quality finished product. Applicants will have more than five years experience in the base preparation phase of the road building process as well as proven leadership skills. They will have knowledge of the equipment involved in these processes, basic maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. They will be able to supervise & organize a crew of employees, have a background in reading and understanding construction drawings, blueprints and specifications, knowledge of construction equipment, construction materials, and the transportation of materials, excellent communication skills .

Finish Grader Operators

Fine finishing of base course is a key element to producing a quality finished road, the Finish Grader Operator is critical to achieving success. Applicants will have more than five years experience operating motor graders in the finishing process. They will be able to read grades, blueprints, and interpret drawings. An eye for detail, pride in workmanship, and an understanding of the importance of a quality finished product to the process of road building are keys to success. Our standards for quality product are extremely high and it is critical for our Finish Grader Operators to achieve them. Applicants must have excellent communication skills in addition to their technical abilities.

Loader Operators

Loader operators facilitate the movement of materials on site and are often required to be versatile in the type of equipment they operate. Applicants must have more than two years experience operating loaders and other heavy equipment, preferably in a road building environment, is able to take direction, and communicate well with others. Attention to detail and the ability to operate with care and precision are all assets. One must have a knowledge of the equipment, basic maintenance and troubleshooting.

Skidsteer Operators

Skid steer operators facilitate the movement of materials on the jobsite and must be able to work seamlessly between pieces of equipment and perform manual labour work. Applicants should have at least one year of experience operating skid steer machines, preferably in a road building environment, and have knowledge of the equipment, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting. The successful applicant should be able to take direction, have good communication skills, take pride in their work, and have a desire to work safely and learn about our industry.

Labourers
